In Germany, our affiliate TKDZ GmbH is responsible for securing mine workings. The so-called rock filling is the process of filling cavities caused by mining activities with suitable materials, known as filling or backfilling materials.
We use this method to secure the ridges and stabilise the mining pillars of endangered mining chambers. TKDZ uses mining refuse – residual materials left over from the extraction and treatment of dolomite rocks – as backfilling material. Depending on the requirements, the team of specialists supplements these with other suitable and officially authorised materials not sourced from mining activities. Because the future lies in modern, sustainable and intelligent mining.
